Investigations

Reputation investigations

Most items resolve in review. Some need real work. Investigations are how the hard cases get handled instead of guessed at.

Definition

A reputation investigation is a structured review Hub or Dub performs when submitted information conflicts, requires field verification, or needs deeper documentation before a decision can be made.

What triggers an investigation

Conflicting submissions about the same event, disputed items with substantial evidence on both sides, identity questions, safety concerns, suspected misuse of the platform, and anything a reviewer escalates.

How investigations are handled

Investigations are opened in the centralized queue, assigned to authorized personnel, documented as they progress, and closed with a recorded outcome. Field work goes to credentialed agents when it is required.

  • Least-privilege access to sensitive information throughout
  • Sensitive identifiers masked everywhere they are not strictly required
  • Outcome, timestamp, and responsible reviewer written to an immutable log
