Why do you need an SSN or ITIN?

To make sure a record attaches to exactly one real person and never to someone else with a similar name. It is used only for identity resolution inside the secure back office system.

Only authorized back office reviewers, under least-privilege access, with every access recorded.

Can two accounts control the same record?

No. One verified record is delegated to exactly one active account at a time, enforced with transactional locking and unique ownership constraints.

How verification works

You submit identity information and supporting documents during onboarding. Back office personnel review them by hand. Nothing is approved automatically, and your submitted documents stay private.

Sensitive identifiers

Individuals are resolved using a verified identity identifier such as an SSN or ITIN. Businesses are resolved using a verified FEIN, EIN, or other authorized business identifier. These are used only inside the secure back office identity resolution system, encrypted at rest and in transit, restricted by least privilege, and masked everywhere they are not absolutely required.

When a record already exists

If a record already exists for your verified identifier, onboarding tells you plainly and gives you two controlled paths: sign into the existing account, or request delegation to your new one. Delegation requests enter a protected review queue. Submitting a request never transfers ownership on its own.
